The origin of the INEC goes back to the period before Independence when the Electoral Commission of Nigeria was established to conduct 1959 elections. The Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO), established in 1960 conducted the immediate post-independence federal and regional elections of 1964 and 1965.The electoral body was dissolved after the military coup of 1966. In 1978, the Federal Electoral Commission was constituted by the regime of General Olusegeun Obasanjo organizing the elections of 1979 which ushered in the Nigeria Second Republic under the leadership of Alhaji Shegu Shagari It also conducted the general elections of 1983.
The major function of INEC Nigeria is to organize, undertake and supervise all elections in Nigeria
The Federal Government Of Nigeria is set to recruit Graduates into the office of Independent National Electoral Commission.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for full-time appointments to the following positions in the INEC.
Important! The minimum qualifications interested applicants are : SSCE / NECO / GCE / NCE / ND / HND / BSC / apply applying as an individual ( Constituency Returning Officers, System analyst, Quantity Conveyor, Engineering and Technical Officers) and must be between 18 and 35 years.
SSCE / NECO / GCE / ND / HND / BSC/ Or any other relevant certificates of good government approved institutions / organizations.
N / B: Male Applicants must be lower than 1.68 meters tall, while the female Applicants must not be lower than 1.65 meters tall.
